Chief Executive - Cim Insurance & Investment Cluster
André Tait (52) joined the Cim Group after a long and distinguished career in the insurance industry in Southern Africa where he gathered significant experience as both a Chief Financial Officer and a Director. André joined Cim in 2008 from PPS, (Professional Provident Society), where he held a number of senior position and where he also was responsible for the establishment of their Namibian business and for the development of their growth strategy.
He has a good experience in the pension, insurance, medical scheme, property and investment sectors as well as in a number of functional disciplines such as strategy, finance and investments, marketing, product development, customer management and project office. He is also the Managing Director and an Executive Director of Cim Insurance.
Hennie FOURIE CA (SA)
Chief Insurance Officer
Hennie Fourie (39) is the executive director responsible for the day to day running of both Cim Life and Cim Insurance. Hennie is a South African Chartered Accountant who started his career in banking and then moved into insurance and more recently, as Managing Director, with Natsure Ltd, a leading insurer which specialises in structure and construction insurance in the African market. Hennie has the appropriate insurance experience, leadership and entrepreneurial skills to complement the existing operational skills. Hennie’s focus will be to grow both companies in the local and international market through product offering, innovation and superior service.
Naresh GOKULSING, B.A (Hons.) FCCA
Chief Operating Officer
Naresh (39) spent 5 years at Albatross Insurance as Finance Manager from 2002 to 2007 and left to join Cim Property Fund Management Ltd as Managing Director. In March 2009, Naresh was appointed as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Albatross.
Before joining the Cim group, Naresh spent 5 years with General Brokerage, now Cim Stockbrokers, as Head of Research and General Manager respectively. He worked in the business advisory services of Price Waterhouse from 1993 to 1997. He was a Director of Stock Exchange of Mauritius and Central Depository Settlement Co. Ltd from 2000 to 2002.
Patrice HOUDET, A.C.I.I
General Manager – Operations General
Patrice Houdet (54) joined Albatross in 1976 as Marine Underwriter. In 1978 he moved to the Claims department and was appointed Claims Manager in 1989. Over the years he has gained considerable experience in the handling of large and complex claims. In 2001, he was promoted as Technical Manager and apart from his key responsibility of managing the Claims department, he is also actively involved in the administration of our Health portfolio. In 2009, he was appointed to his current role.
Sonia CHAROUX A.C.I.I. (UK)
General Manager - Product development
Sonia Charoux (46) started in the Insurance sector in 1982. She joined Albatross in 1986 in the Reinsurance Department of the General Division. In 2000 she was promoted Supervisor of the Underwriting Dept and in 2002 Assistant Technical Manager-General Division responsible for both Underwriting and Reinsurance Departments. Since July 2005 she is heading the Reinsurance Department as manager. She was appointed to her current role in May 2009.
Veenaye BUSGEETH, ACCA (UK)
Finance Manager – Insurance & Investment Cluster
Veenaye Busgeeth (28) is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts. He worked for BDO De Chazal du Mée from September 2004 to June 2009 and was a Supervisor in the Audit and Business Advisory, after having worked for two and half years in the Accounting and Auditing Department of Nathadkhan Associate Chartered Accountants. He has performed a large number of operational and financial assignments including extensive reviews of internal control environment. He now heads the finance department of the Cim Insurance & Investment cluster and also acts as the Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO).
Clive CHUNG, BSc (HONS), MBA
Human Resource Manager – Insurance & Investment Cluster
Clive Chung (32) has been working in the fields of Human Resource, Training and Quality in the hospitality industry for the past 8 years. Before joining the Cim Insurance and Investment Cluster, he was the Head of Human Resource and Quality at Anahita.
Shailen SOOBAH, FCCA, MBA
Compliance Manager
Shailen Soobah (35) joined Albatross Insurance in June 2009. He was previously the Head of Insurance at the Financial Services Commission (FSC). Before joining FSC, he worked for DCDM, in the audit and global business department for 10 years.
